On May 27, 2024, "first-class" course construction project was carried out at SEM. Six reviewers and faculty who participated in the project were present at the activity. Prof. Botang Han from the School of Management of Beijing Institute of Technology was invited to give a special report on teaching.

First, four teachers, Chaoying Tang, Han Qiao, Zhou He and Yi Sun, reported the progress of their courses of "Employee Creativity Management" "Business Models" "System Modeling and Simulation" and "Digital Economics", which were included in the construction project in 2022, from the aspects of course information, construction progress, and research results.

Then, four teachers, Wen Long, Shuming Wang, Dongmei Wang and Dalong Luan, made a mid-term assessment report of the courses of “Angel Investment”“Oerations Research”“Poetry Appreciation and Management Application”and “Corporate M&A and Restructuring Practice”, which were awarded the construction project in 2023. Their reports include course construction progress, the use of funds, and the work plan of the next year.

Three teachers, Yan Zhao, Yingjie Tian and Xiufang Song, applied for the project this year for the courses of “Theory and Methods of Modern Library Science”“Machine Learning”and “Scientific and Technological Information Retrieval and Utilization”. They mainly introduced about their own teaching experiences, teaching results in the last five years, course construction plans.

The reviewers made comments and guidance after each teacher's report, not only affirming the achievements of some courses, but also putting forward suggestions for the construction of teaching materials, the production of micro-video of courses etc.

The activity was divided into two phases. The first stage was the reporting activity of "first-class course" construction, including the final assessment of the project in 2022, the mid-term report of the project in 2023 and the report of the project application in 2024. In the second phase, Prof. Han Botang gave a presentation and discussion on the topic of "'Management Operations Research' textbook writing and its experience".

Then Prof. Botang Han shared the background and the experience of writing and editing the textbook of "Management Operations Research". He encouraged the teachers to seize the opportunity of the current national emphasis on graduate education, closely follow the trend of the times and lead the development of course construction and textbook development for graduate education. He also answered questions and confusions about the curriculum construction from the teachers.
