2023 Summer School on Economics Opens

The opening ceremony of the Summer School on Economics was held at 9:00 a.m. on July 16, and more than 500 students from 170 universities at home and abroad actively participated in the Summer School, either on site or in the cloud, to learn about "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy".

 

Prof. Yongmiao Hong, Dean of SEM at UCAS, made an opening speech. He first introduced UCAS, and then introduced SEM, including her history, faculty, research, as well as the contributions made by SEM to the national economic and social development. He hoped that the participants would make good use of the Summer School and communicate with students and scholars from different disciplines from all over the world.

 

In the following four days, Prof. Xianchun Xu from National School of Development at Peking University, Prof. Yuezhou Cai from Institute of Quantitative & Technological Economics, CASS, Prof. Jiaquan Yao from Jinan University, Prof. Xiaoguang Yang, Prof. Han Qiao, Prof. Cuihong Yang and Prof. Shouyang Wang from SEM at UCAS, and Prof. Fuwei Jiang from the Central University of Finance and Economics were invited to deliver wonderful academic speeches.

 

SEM at UCAS initiated the Summer School on Economics in 2019, and had successfully held three summer schools on the themes of "Rethinking Chinese Economics" "Economic Theory Innovation in the Digital Era" and "High Quality Development of Digital Economy" respectively, with the active participation of young scholars and postgraduates from colleges and universities across China, as well as the strong support and recognition of many scholars and experts at home and abroad.
