SEM and Sino-Singapore (Xiamen) Membrane and Graphene Industry Research Institute Reach Strategic Cooperation

On June 15, 2023, SEM at UCAS and the Sino-Singapore (Xiamen) Membrane and Graphene Industry Research Institute (MGIRI) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Mo Xu, President of MGIRI, Wanyun Lei, Senior Advisor of Fujian Overseas Industry Development Association, Jinqi Ye, Chairman of Fujian Overseas Industry Development Association, and representatives from Xiamen enterprises, Prof. Yongmiao Hong, Dean of SEM, Prof. Ping Lyu, Vice Dean of SEM and other representatives from SEM attended the signing ceremony.

 

Prof. Hong delivered a speech, welcoming Mo Xu and his delegation to SEM for a site visit. He pointed out that the signing of the agreement would promote the future cooperation between the two parties. Prof. Hong said that there are many advanced technologies and scientific research achievements in CAS institutes of, and he hoped to build a platform connecting enterprises and CAS institutes through SEM, so as to promote the transfer and transformation of more scientific and technological achievements.

 

Mo Xu introduced the background of the establishment of MGIRI. Membrane technology is an important industry in the 21st century. MGIRI has close cooperation with Xiamen University and Xiamenlocal enterprises, and in the future, he hoped to establish close cooperation with UCAS and CAS institutes, and jointly promote the development of the industry.

 

Prof. Yi Sun, the assistant dean of SEM introduced SEM from six aspects: history, discipline construction, faculty, talent cultivating, internationalization, social service and EDP center. MGIRI also introduced the Institute from eight aspects, namely, vision and mission, significance of construction, construction plan, research direction and content, organizational structure, talent introduction, policy support, and work progress.

 

Finally, Yongmiao Hong and Mo Xu signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.
